HeritageSpot Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 7, 2026

Introduction

HeritageSpot ("we", "our", or "us") respects the privacy of our users. HeritageSpot is a fully offline app: it does not connect to the internet, and no information about you or your device is ever collected, transmitted, or stored on any server. This Privacy Policy explains the very limited way the app uses information, entirely on your device.

Information We Collect

HeritageSpot does not collect any information. The one exception is:

How We Use Your Information

Your device's location, when granted, is used solely to show you nearby heritage sites within the app. It is not used for any other purpose.

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any information to third parties, because no information is collected in the first place.

Data Storage

All heritage site content, images, and app data are bundled with the app itself and stored locally on your device. The app makes no network requests of any kind. Location data used for "Near Me" is processed entirely on-device in real time and is never sent to us or stored anywhere, including by us.

Your Rights

You can choose not to provide certain information, such as location data, but this may limit certain features of the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

Content Rights

The content in this app regarding heritage sites, including descriptions, historical information, and some images, is sourced from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) licenses. We provide proper attribution within the app for all such content (wherever applicable).
